CATARINA ALBUQUERQUE
ABOUT ME
I am a recent international graduate. I studied Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology, and Sport Management at Rice University, as well as playing on the DI Women's Soccer team. I have also been a part of the Portuguese Women's National Team since I was 15 years old, working my way up from the U16s to the U23s. My ultimate goal is to work at the front office of a professional soccer team.
WORK EXPERIENCE
I have gained some valuable experience in the sports industry throughout my time at Rice University and through the various soccer clubs that I have been a part of. I have played at Arsenal FC and now at a DI university, and have been a part of the Portuguese National Team set-up for the past five years of my soccer career. I have worked for Learfield as a marketing intern, and worked as a Sales and Marketing intern at College Scholarships USA. I have also spent one semester working as a Creative intern for Rice Athletics and am currently working for Professional Sports Partners as a sales intern for the Art of Soccer Program.
ACTIVITIES, SKILLS AND HOBBIES
I played an important role in the international community at Rice University, working as an Undergraduate International Orientation Director. I am fluent in English and Portuguese, and learned to speak Spanish throughout my time in high school. Furthermore, I play the concertina (a traditional Portuguese instrument) and love to engage in social activities with friends and family in my free time.

MY SPORTING CAREER
I started my soccer career at GreenFord Celtic, a boys team in London before being scouted by Watford FC. I stayed at Watford for a few years, and then moved to my second women's team, Middlesex FC. I then trialed for a few better clubs during my few years here, and managed to make the Arsenal women's team. I then played at Arsenal for the next 7 years before moving to the States to play at Rice University.
